Neo-adjuvant
TIM-ILP for soft tissue sarcoma (IV). Shown are comparative
MRIs of the left thigh before and on day 30 after TIM-ILP. Before
treatment, the sarcoma was invading the whole quadriceps and was
surrounding the femur shaft (left). After treatment, 60% of tumour
was necrotic and the gadolinium positive area was restricted to
the rectus anterior muscle. The tumour remnants were removed and
closure was performed with plastic, reconstructive surgery. The
patient remained well until the tenth month after ILP when she
developed lung metastases and groin recurrence. Systemic chemotherapy
was inefficient and she died on the twelfth month after TIM-ILP. |
