Abstract
CD8 T cells play a critical role in controlling viral as well as intracellular bacterial and parasitic infections and are also of importance in immunity against tumors. In this talk I will describe our studies examining the differentiation of memory CD8 T cells during an acute versus chronic viral infection. These findings have implications for developing strategies for both preventive and therapeutic vaccination.
